About Us

What is FirelyteTM? That's a question I hear a lot lately. What does it mean? What is its significance? Well, let me try to clarify it for you. FirelyteTM is a concept. It’s a transformative process that evolves ideas into something tangible. Basically it's my design philosophy.

My name is Jonathan Roberts, I'm the Creative Director and owner of FirelyteTM, LLC. I wanted to take this opportunity to welcome you to our site and give you a little background on my company.

Our mission

To transform our clients ideas into intuitive designs.

Our history

FirelyteTM was founded back in the spring of 1995 as a freelance design firm. Since that time we've focused almost exclusively on website and interactive design at various dot-coms, advertising agencies and corporations.

Over the years, we've found that our experience working directly with developers has not only improved our design process, but given us a better understanding how a user interface will be implemented and used. We've taken this knowledge and applied it to our methodology.

This technique allows us to provide cost effective services which, in the long run, will always have a positive return for our clients.

Our Process

Sitting down with our clients, we take the time to listen and figure out what they want and what they need. This requirement gathering process is the essential first step for every project.

The design process is the second phase, it begins from scratch, no cheesy design templates here, we build custom solutions that transform our clients ideas into something that can see, feel and taste. Okay, maybe not taste.

We don't always get it right on the first try, so in phase three, we go through an iterative process with our clients to make changes. We work closely with them to make sure that we design is exactly what they want.

Once finalized, phase four begins and we code the initial XHTML and CSS. We take care that we code the site for whatever back-end systems that may be used. To accomplish this we will be in communication with the client’s developers the entire time.

With everything is coded and tested, we enter the final phase of the project. We show the prototype to the client and launch the site/or pass off the rest of the work for the client's developers.

Our Advantage

We understand the development process for large-scale corporate websites and intranets. We factor in the modifications necessary to work with the unique development platform that will be used. We aren't developers, but we know how to work with them.

We know how to work with .NET, Java and a variety of other programming languages, so that your developers won't need to recode what we put together for you. We've specialized in designing sites for Oracle's ECM (Formerly Stellent) and know how to design around Site Studio's limitations as well as other development challenges.

We can save you money with a seamless integration between design and development that most creative agency's can't.

Testimonials

"Taking our new business concept from ideas to a fully fleshed out website was complex challenge. Jon was a valuable resource for turning the questions over and over and developing solutions until arriving at what became our online data base of trends at Iconoculture.com.

Jon built the prototype that helped us make our first beta sales and was the user interface designer that got us started. He did a great job over the years on the next three versions of our website as it continued to morph and change."
