My Bio

Jonathan Roberts
Art Director / Interactive Designer

I have worked in the creative industry as a freelancer, designer, developer and project leader since 1995. Working at an advertising agency during my college years, I learned how to use my education on the job in a fast-paced environment as a web designer while learning how to take charge of projects in a deadline intensive field.

Shortly after graduation, I moved on to be the Lead Developer at IVI Publishing. It was there I proved my worth in bringing a project that was seven months behind schedule back on track in just two months, all the while honing my HTML, scripting and computer graphics skills.

Having proven myself to be indispensable, I was asked to return to M.R. Danielson Advertising as their Webmaster and took charge of a multitude of website projects as well as some traditional print work, expanding my level of expertise.

During the Dot-Com boom, I was enticed by the internet startup company Ulysses netSolutions and it was here that my leadership skills were truly utilized. Eventually being promoted to Lead Interactive Designer, I took charge of many of the company's clients' websites and was able to bridge the gap between the creative world and the technical world with my past experience.

This led to Javelin Solutions hiring me in the summer of 2000. Working with several teams of developers and other creative professionals, I worked on several multi-million dollar e-commerce websites.

During the Dot-Com bust that followed, I continued to work on freelancing projects and established a network of other professionals in the field that has proven nothing short of invaluable.

In January of 2002, I was hired by Kanterra to be their sole Interactive Designer. The then very small internet startup has since doubled in size several times and is now known as TEAM Informatics. As the company's Art Director, I have been responsible for the design of many of their client's websites as well as a usability expert and information architect on many of their client's projects. One of my main assets is my ability to bring many difficult or seemingly difficult projects to completion on time or ahead of schedule.

Today, I am an expert in web design, layout, site usability, HTML coding, CSS, JavaScript, some animation and other tools/programs that are necessary in his field. I also bring a bit of computer programming knowledge and is capable of working inside a developer's code to fix user interface problems, which is a very valuable skill to have in this fast paced field.
